This is about time ( Better late Than never huh?) to share my favorites of last year beauty products, although this selection have some flops and it did change this year but Oh well ..
so lets jump into stuff.
Foundation : Anastasia Beverly Hills stick foundation (25$)
I was SO excited to try out the Anastasia BH foundation stick. I mean, SO excited! I haven’t met an Anastasia product, I don’t love. But this one fell short. There are a lot of comparable foundation sticks on the market right now, with new ones coming out often. So, I was confused with this foundation stick. It couldn’t have passed the Anastasia test, her products as I said, are nearly perfection!Initially it was marketed as matte which it’s not at all (it’s pretty shiny) and marketed towards oilier skin types (probably because it’s stiff) . It settles into fine lines around the eyes, it cakes up and separates after less than two hours of wear, and it really can’t be built to full coverage. For me (because of my somehow oily skin) it blended out fine, patting it on with fingertips was the easiest most seamless application but a sponge worked fine too. I didn’t like it with a brush because it made my skin look textured. On the color: if you’re looking for an olive shade you won’t find it here–regardless of how it’s described (it’s too peach to be olive or yellow) and it oxidized a full two shades. It was such a struggle to keep this stuff on my face, primer, no primer, powder first and after, plus setting spray–it didn’t matter. It didn’t emphasize my pores but otherwise it was pretty disappointing. This might be good for those with a more normal skin type, I think it could be pretty if you can make it stay and keep it away from the eye area .
Eyeliner :Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner (24$)
Great formula! Definitely a matte and opaque eyeliner! Only thing that I would have to say that was negative about this product is that it is definitely not for beginners, because the product comes in a tube. The tube packaging makes it hard to easily get out a consistent amount of product and I’ve always found that using a liquid liner compared to a gel liner is much easier, but if you are ready to try out (and maybe practice a little) you will probably love this product.
Setting Powder :MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder (36$)
I love setting my face makeup with this powder. It is so easy to apply – just apply all over your face after you put on your foundation and concealer. It keeps your makeup in place all day and absorbs more oil throughout the day so that you are less shiny. Great buy!It is a game changer! It goes on so smoothly and leaves the skin looking flawless and airbrushed. I apply it with the kabuki brush for blending or a large powder brush.
Eyelashes : House of Lashes Iconic (12$)
I love House of Lashes lashes in general. The Iconics are my favorite because the inner corner lashes start VERY short and the outer are much longer and end with a little criss cross flair. These are definitely not everyday lashes unless your everyday is glam, but they are lovely and hold up well to multiple wearings
Brush:Tarte Airbuki Bamboo Powder Foundation Brush (28$)
One of my most beloved brushes, I own a few of this brand and I couldn’t be happier, worth every penny, this brush is meant to give you and air brush finish on power foundation, but I feel like all depends with which foundation you use with, I use it with a lot of my foundation liquid, power, cream and with all I get an amazing result, what I love the most is that I already clean it a million of times and it still looks brand new.
Eyeshadow palette : tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette (46$)
It’s everyday make up must have ! Colors are beautiful neutrals, blend very well, they do have a fallout, but it doesn’t bother me much. And you always need to tap your brush before applying to get rid of excess of product or you’ll have some trouble blending it out since the shadow is very pigmented. Pallete does have sweet smell, I personally really like it, but I know some people might be sensitive to it. Package is nice and hard with big mirror. You can pull out so many looks with these shadows !
Lipstick: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick (20$)
This is the most long wearing lipstick I have ever had! I was in the mall all day shopping, went to the gym (forgot I had make up on… don’t judge! Lol), steam room, jacuzzi the works! When I finally was ready to the a shower… I looked in the mirror and lo and behold my lipstick stayed on and on fleek! Not a smudge! It feelsso comfortable and light on the lips. It’s as if I’m not wearing anything on my lips at all. On top of that it’s possible to apply multiple coats throughout the day on top of the dry lipstick without the existing lipstick crusting off and looking bad. That’s a huge advantage for a day out and about. The colours are also absolutely beautiful and the formula is amazing. It’s not as drying as many other liquid lipsticks. This liquid lipstick is perfect for those of us who thought liquid lipsticks weren’t meant for them.
